I am going to start at the beginning and try to explain what is needed to have a successful online business.

First, we need to understand that there are three reasons why people search online. They are either looking for entertainment, information or to purchase a product. This means there are three types of websites, information websites, entertainment websites and shopping websites.

Step 1 is the need to understand which type of site you are looking for. Do you want to sell a product online or just give information about your business? Alternatively, are you looking for an entertainment website?

Entertainment sites can get very complicated. Sites like MySpace, dating sites, blogs, and forums and so on are types of social media sites, which allow the visitor or member to interact with other visitors or members.

It is normal that a dating site would make their money by charging a monthly fee. While a site like YouTube would make their money by selling advertising space. Each site has to be set up with an understanding of how the site will make money or interact with its visitors.

I am sure it is no surprise to anyone that most people give up before they make enough money to buy a pack of Rolaids. The sad part is that there are many ways to make money online but most people do not stick around long enough to find them.

I currently own a web design business that I make a good living with. However, one of the biggest questions I am asked is how to make money online. I am going to attempt to both answer and show you how this is done.

First thing you need is an idea. I know many people that are making a large profit with affiliate marketing but I am not very big on
marketing someone else’s products. It also needs to be something that your passionate about and being passionate about something that belongs to someone else, really isn’t my cup of tea.

I will be showing you how to dominate a market, while running my web design business and posting on this blog. Therefore, before you say you do not have the time, think about that. Oh, I also answer around 200 emails per day and talk to around 30 to 50 people on the phone every day.

In addition, before you say you do not have the money, think about this. I was born in a third world country and had to work on a farm picking coffee, when I was 6 years old, to help support my family. At the age of 13, I was kicked out of the house because my father did not have the means to support everyone in the family. I started my first online business while leaving on beans in the poorest part of my town.

In addition, if you say you do not have the education. I have had to teach myself English and I am the only one in this country that makes a living online. I have no one that I am able to turn to and ask for advice or help. I make my total living online. I do not sell any websites here in Colombia and when I started I did not even know how to send an email.

I guess the only excuse you have left is that you are just too lazy.
